The environmental information centre of Guangzhou was established in August of 1996. The purpose is for strengthen the unified management to the environmental information resources in our city, develop and utilize environmental information resources synthetically further , ensure environmental sound development that message worked, offer the environmental information supporting and service for making policy in the governments at all levels. The environmental information work includes environmental quality correctly, natural environment , environmental pollution sources , environmental management business and government affairs , environmental protection technology and environmental background information ,etc. " leads unifiedly , overall planning, seek unity of standard, differentiated control, resource-sharing ".

The main task of the environmental information management is: According to relevant laws and regulations and government's requisitions for environmental protection work at all levels, make and implement the work planning of environmental information; Make and implement the environmental information standard and technical specification ; The organization develops and utilizes the environmental information resources; Normal running of the environmental information network of organizational building.

Including geographical information system (GIS ) , system , webpage making , comprehensive application system of multimedia , data management system , file administrative system of office automation (OA ) .......
